Well…it’s now 2020! Wowsers. 2019 went really quickly didn’t it? Frightening really when you think about it.
So, now we are on the PROPER countdown towards our Orlando trip, 206 days. Yikes! Here at Oh Orlando towers we are prepping like a pair of fools. Looking at restaurants we want to book at the earliest possible date, (180 days from the 1st day of the holiday). We are looking at the California Bar and Grill in the Contemporary resort, a beautiful place for a meal and a chill out, and if you keep your receipt you can re-visit during the evening and watch the fireworks from the terrace with a nice cocktail. Happy days.

To say we are excited about staying on site at Disney Springs is an understatement, bars, restaurants and shopping on the doorstep – it’s going to be a real boon for us. We love Wine Bar George, the staff and the service and not to mention the huge selection of drinks make it a wonderful experience. As for food?! Oh my days. You cannot imagine the choice you now have. So many places to eat ranging from ‘quick service’ to full experience dining. Mr Oh Orlando’s fave quick service was the Chicken Guy shop. This place was OFF.THE.HOOK. Delicious, the chicken tenders and the array of sauces made it a must visit place. As we say here it’s the staff that make a experience. And the staff here were so helpful. Kudos to the team at Chicken Guy.

Our son Ashley and his fiancée Tiffany went to the steak restaurant “STK”. To say they enjoyed the meal would be to do the restaurant a disservice….we’ve never heard Ash talk so much about a plate of food!
One of the places we want to try is Blaze Pizza. This place has become legendary with pizza lovers in the State. You basically build your own pizza, base, toppings and sauces and they use a wood fired oven. So, if you are Gluten free, Vegan – whatever you need they can make it!
Another little gem is the Coca-Cola store, this is a cracking place to while away sometime. A multi-level store with shopping and merch and the crown is the rooftop bar. You can get classic Cola drinks here or mix them with the help of the staff. We had the Mello Yellow Cola, with a mix of something else. Totally worth it. Lovely drinks and a unrivalled view across the ‘Springs.

Our hotel is the Holiday Inn. This is situated on the edge of Disney Springs. The benefits of staying here are many, we get extra magic park hours (we can access the parks extra early. Nice!), we have transportation to and from the parks via the WDW shuttle buses as well. One of the best reasons to stay here is the benefits of booking Fastpasses 60 days in advance, due to the time of year we are visiting this will be a real help to us, as we will be running around like loons!!
We are really looking forward to our stay at the Holiday Inn. The time of year we are travelling, due to Mr Oh Orlando’s job, means we have to visit during the factory shutdown dates. This has put the price of our adventure up considerably, so we looked and looked and looked to search for a good option for us. Then we looked a bit more…. we finally chose the hotel as it was a good compromise between a villa, that we normally book or a townhouse, which too be honest for the main weeks the prices were maddeningly expensive. So…the hotel it was! And the silver lining is the room we’ve booked is a pool view room, with a balcony, king bed and sofas and desk. Nice
