We are 199 days out from our holiday – so the job to do this week, link our hotel booking to the My Disney Experience App!
Not going to lie we had a bit of a faff! – but we got there in the end. Especially after we rang the Disney World helpline. They told us what the problem was and they stayed on the phone while we were tapping away at the iPad like crazy following the instructions they had given us to make sure they worked! Voila! We were linked to the My Disney Experience App. Happy happy days. We cannot praise WDW customer service enough, so helpful and so understanding. So we then popped onto twitter to use the hashtag #castmembercompliment to big up the very helpful person. Side note- we always take the time to praise staff where ever we are. Be nice folks!! It costs nothing, and can make a persons day.

As we’ve spoken about before, one of the reasons we are staying in the Holiday Inn at Disney Springs, is the advantage of booking Dining Reservations 180 days out and also Fast Passes 60 days before (non-Disney resorts/hotels/off site is 30 days before) the first day of your adventure. Winning!! These advantages will be great for us because if there are not any ‘extra magic park hours’ available for the day we want to visit a certain park we can book a very early breakfast, scoff it really quickly and get on with the running around! Winning again! Some character breakfasts and popular restaurants sell out and fill up very quickly so it does make sense to book as early as possible. So at 199 days out we are all ready and counting down to the 180 day mark to book our character breakfast – because who wouldn’t want breakfast with Mickey House and pals!

Don’t worry about the fact that you have booked Fast Passes so far in advance either. They don’t set your plans in concrete, you can chop and change and cancel or move times depending on how the mood takes you and as your plans change, maybe because of the weather or crowd levels. At least if you’ve booked them you stand a fighting chance of getting on the “big” rides.
Now Galaxy’s Edge has opened and Hollywood Studios have introduced the Fast Pass tiers we need to maximise our time running around.

The Holiday Inn at Disney Springs is going to be a great base to plan our holidays, we can even get the WDW shuttle buses to and from the resorts and parks right from the front door. That will keep Mr Oh Orlando happy. Warm sunshine, hot coffee and buses to the house of the Mouse. That will do very nicely!!

One of the other dining reservations we will be making in just over 19 days will lunch at the California Bar and Grill, this sits atop of the Contemporary Resort, (the large white building the monorail passes through). This restaurant is very popular for it’s amazing food and wine choices and also for the views towards the Magic Kingdom. As we have also mentioned before, one of the reasons for doing this (apart from the scrumptious food and drinks) is no matter whit time of day you eat at the restaurant, keep your receipt handy, and you will be allowed to re-visit the restaurant’s terrace bar during the evening and watch the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom while the soundtrack is piped to the terrace. What a fabulous way to finish off a park day? Cold drinks and sublime views. We cannot think of anything better. And its handy to jump back onto the monorail as well. Don’t forget you can walk to the Contemporary Resort from the Magic Kingdom in about 15/20 mins.

We know it sometimes sounds like we are planning this adventure too the nth degree, but we are also really flexible, Florida being Florida it like to throw a few curve balls along the way weather wise, so you have to be able to change and adapt any plans your may have. So we’re planning the absolute must do’s that are on our list and winging the rest! So exciting!!
