We will pretty much guarantee its going to rain each day in the summer, it is Florida after all…and the thing to remember is DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT! Just remember you are in one of the few places on the planet that there is always something happening.
If you are in the parks, any park, and it starts to rain don’t leave! Remember when it rains people start to leave and queues start to get a little shorter. Now’s the time to jump inside and get in an indoor queue or go grab a snack and start looking at fast passes (if you are in a Disney park).
Lots of parks now have indoor shows, Indiana Jones in Hollywood Studios for example or the Muppet Show. That one is brilliant for hot days as well because the A/C is next level and its in ‘Muppet 3D’ – this has to be seen to be believed. A Very very funny show.
Over in Epcot there is the Guardians of the Galaxy live show, all the hits from the
Films performed by the cast, again very good as its under cover.
Inside rides. All the parks have rides that queue inside, so if its boiling hot or tipping it down just jump inside one of these. The wait for these rides is half the fun! Lots of surprises around every corner. The Mummy ride and the new (ish) Jimmy Fallon ride in Universal Studios are a brilliant example of how to entertain the guests (no spoilers we promise).

Plan your meal breaks. It’s been shown that the lions share of people in theme parks tend to eat around the same time (between 12.30pm and 2.00pm) so our advice is to eat a little later. The reason being is that it normally rains around about 3pm/4pm so if you know that its going to happen try and plan on eating a little later when you know there is a change in the weather. As we said a lot of people tend to leave, so while they are busy getting out you are busy getting fed and rested. Ready for your 2nd wind! We’ve stated before you need to rest. It’s a looooonnngggg day and a whole lotta steps being got in. (On average you’ll walk about between 9 or 10 miles a day…) so stopping for a rain/snack/footrest is a cracking idea.
Go for a drive! It wont be raining all over Florida…unless you are really unlucky. Visit the coast! Go and see Daytona beach? Lots of history there and a beach you can drive on. Or visit Vero beach, a quiet beach town located on the Atlantic treasure coast. A little further away is the U.S. Navy Seal U.D.T Museum a must for any WW2 history buff. On the opposite coast is Clearwater Beach an absolutely beautiful piece of coastline, its like a mini Miami. And while you are there take a trip on the Wave Dancer boat. This takes you out and around the town and all the massive posh houses of the rich and famous.

Take a ride down I-Drive on the trolley bus and visit all the excellent attractions that line the iconic road. There is the the huge Ripley’s Believe it or not! Also the Titanic- the Artifact Exhibition (we looked at getting married there!) for fun and puzzles there is WonderWorks a fun park of the mind. One of Our favourite places to Visit was Top Golf, a multi floored Golf range and restaurant. We must say it was one of the best nights out we had in Orlando.

Explore the local areas. There is so much to Orlando than parks and coasters. A good day out is the Bok Tower Gardens just 10 miles away from Legoland. It’s just on 700 acres of Citrus groves, woodland gardens and nature trails a feast for the mind, body and soul. You could also visit Boggy Creek Airboat Rides, a trip through the Glades on a boat that skips along at speeds of up to 40mph. Close to Orlando International Airport is the Orlando Watersports Complex. You can wakeboard, waterski and kneeboarding there are hours of fun to be had on the inflatable assault course.

Go on a hidden Mickey hunt! Pop along to many of the resorts and ask a cast member at the desk for a hidden Mickey hunt form. You will be exploring the resort for all the mickeys that are hidden in art work, the rugs just about anywhere they can possibly place one. At the end when you’ve completed the hunt report back to the desk and you will get a small prize and a certificate signed by the “Boss’ A Mr M Mouse no less! There are several versions of these dotted around the Disney Resorts so all will be slightly different..
Go shopping! What better excuse to hit the malls than a bit of wet weather. The Mall at Millenia is a brilliant place to visit. We call this one the ‘posh’ mall. Lots of high end stores and some excellent restaurants. Anyone need an excuse to visit the famous Cheesecake Factory?? We dont! The outlet malls just off the I-4 are another good way to spend a few hours, lots of bargains to be had here and we mean bargains.
One of the best malls to visit Is the Florida mall. It’s a mall that’s used by the locals so a massive selection of shops for all your needs.
Have fun and don’t let the weather spoil your day! There is so much to see and do You will not be disappointed. See you all soon!!
